Notes for the future:

Some leftover notes around Kiwi PyCon for when it is organised by Python New Zealand:
(also check Linux Australia’s rules around delegation of conference organisation)

The Society aims to organise an annual conference (“Kiwi PyCon”).

This means:

  • The Society's committee appoints an organising sub-committee for each conference.
  • The sub-committee is granted the discretion to allocate and spend funds from an approved conference budget for the direct purposes of organising and executing the event, subject to any expenditure thresholds established by the committee.
  • The funds of the Society may, at the discretion of the Society's committee, be used for the purposes of organising the conference within an approved budget.
  • Any profits from running the conference shall be retained by the Society.
  • The Society's committee (shall/may) override decisions by the organising committee where it deems these to not adhere to the Society's constitution.
